ROR is a program that promotes early literacy by bringing new books and advice about the importance of reading aloud into the pediatric exam room. Children ages 6 months to 5 years old receive a new, developmentally and culturally appropriate children's book at each well-visit.

Currently, our program goes beyond the original scope of providing children with books during each well-visit. Our ROR program celebrates the joy of reading by hosting monthly reading celebrations. We also give away over 500 new books to children at the Teddy Bear Clinic.

Our volunteers serve as role models for parents on how to read aloud to their child. Presently, volunteers read to patients in the outpatient center encouraging the love of books by showing how reading can be entertaining.
