Allocations
– Studies the needs and requests of Backus and presents proposals
to the board and membership recommending projects
Education – Fosters programs to encourage reading
to preschoolers, which include participation in the Reach Out and Read
and Born to Read programs as well as films for educational TV, presentations
topre-natal classes and special events.
Hospitality – Responsible for
planning our membership luncheon meetings.
Membership – Tracks membership activity, oversees
new member orientation and tours of the hospital, solicits new members,
hosts new member coffees, and prepares and distributes the Yearbook.
Nominating – responsible for submitting a slate
of candidates for all open positions on the Board of Directors to the
membership at the Fall membership meeting
Public Relations – works to enhance public awareness
of The One Hundred and the Backus Children’s Hospital through print,
TV and radio media.
Special Events – Responsible for major fund-raising
activities including the annual Bear Gala.
